Joey began racing at the age of 15. His Dad, Kevin, helped Joey begin his racing career in go-karts and would quickly progress competing in stock cars the following year. After experiencing early success Joey would move up the racing ladder to compete in Late Models in only his 3rd year of racing. The transition to Late Model racing was unique, as Joey assisted in the building of the car with chassis fabricator Giulio Montanari. It was the guidance of Giulio and brother Rino Montanari that allowed Joey to hone his skills of race car set up, fabrication, and driving.

Joey McColm At only 20 years old, 2006 would mark the first year of professional racing in Canada’s most elite racing series, CASCAR. The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series was born in 2007 replacing the former CASCAR series. Joey would continue to participate in the Canadian NASCAR series in 2007, 2008, and 2009. Joey has been marked as one of the most personable and accessible drivers in the series as he can often be found signing autographs and interacting with the fans in the grandstands.

Off the track, currently in his 4th year of study, this Civil Engineering student at Ryerson University in Toronto already has plans to continue his education. Upon graduation, Joey will be enrolling in a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program majoring in Marketing.

Racing has continued to be a family sport for Joey as Dad actively co-leads the team. It is the on-going support from Dad and adopted Dad Frank Millman, who also co-leads the team, that allows Joey to thrive amongst Canada’s top drivers.
